GO GREEN AND SAVE offers free Home Sustainability Assessments on the Central Coast.
A qualified, independent local assessor will visit your home and advise you on the best actions to reduce your energy and water bills, increase the comfort of your home, and reduce damaging carbon pollution.
Your assessment will involve the physical inspection of major energy and water systems relating to thermal comfort, water heating, lighting, refrigeration, cooking, entertainment, water efficiency and outdoor consumption and waste management.
Your assessment will take 60 - 90 minutes depending on the amount of information readily available, the size of your property and the number of energy and water systems to check.
(To save time, please try to find any power bills, gas and water bills available and check if you have insulation in your roof, before your assessor arrives!)
A few weeks after your assessment you will receive a tailored home sustainability assessment report from the government, that recommends the best water and energy saving changes you can make to your property, and practical information to get you started.
In some cases it may be as simple as switching to energy efficient light bulbs and repairing leaking taps. Your assessment may also recommend bigger projects like installing solar panels and rainwater tanks.
To take that next step, you could apply for government cash rebates to help you make changes.
Small businesses may also like to have a green audit done to save money and help the environment. Contact us directly regarding prices as businesses are not eligible for free assessments under the government program. |
